Two years ago, I began the transition to flexible seating in our kindergarten classroom and I have seen it have a huge impact on classroom attentiveness. Students are given a choice (with an expectation) of how to choose the seat that helps them think the best. The communication center will allow for more usable space and storage, encouraging students to be more independent with their materials. Using the included white board, will offer an additional space for peer learning and practice. The other flexible seating will add to their current options. When students are given choices, I believe they take more pride in their education.
