There is something special about watching a child become captivated by a book and my classroom library is undoubtedly my students’ favorite spot in the room. I will be moving to the 4th grade with my students and want their love for reading to continue. As a reading teacher, I strive to help my students find books that will keep them interested, challenged, and will enable them to have fun. It is my goal for my students to be able to have many different experiences through books, allowing them to see life beyond their circumstances. Receiving these books and other organizational items will give my students options in our classroom library and a clean, inviting environment while reading. My students will have the opportunity to explore books in a series that will help to build their reading stamina and allow them to choose books that they enjoy. The storage bins, Post-it notes and paper will also be used for engaging writing activities where students respond to their reading.
