Students love to use flexible seating in classrooms. This experience teaches them the importance of staying on task during instruction while defeating the temptation of becoming unfocused. I notice that most students have a hard time paying attention in class at certain moments of the day, which results in a lot of fidgeting at their desks. I believe that by allowing students to utilize an elastic foot fidget band all will have the opportunity to release negative energy or stress in a positive way. Small-group assistance is important for students who do not understand content during whole-class instruction. By purchasing stools, I will be able to group struggling students who need one-on-one time at a table in the classroom. These stackable stools do not take up a lot of space in our busy classroom environment. I believe that my students will adore these seats because it gives them the opportunity to experience learning in a way that is both different and refreshing.
