Hello everyone! I am new to teaching Spanish and I have found that the best way to motivate my students is to get them actively engaged in competition with their classmates. I love to keep my students on their toes and moving about the classroom. Whiteboards are a great way to do this because I can easily practice vocabulary skills with them. I love watching my students furiously write a new vocabulary word in hopes of earning points for their team. The more times we practice, the better they know the words of the language. I have been putting my students in groups because I currently have three whiteboards. I would love for each student to have their own so everyone can be actively engaged. Additionally, my students struggle to keep up with notes written on loose leaf paper. My vision is for each student to walk into Spanish class on the first day and find a notebook with their name on it that will stay in the classroom. By having notebooks that stay in the classroom, I eliminate disorganization and the loss of important notes. Organization is half the battle. By having a personal notebook that never changes location, learning is more consistent.
