Ke Kula ʻo ʻEhunuikaimalino is a K-12 title 1 school located in Kealakekua, Hawaiʻi. Students have the opportunity to learn the Hawaiian language and culture everyday. I teach Kindergarten. Students are instructed entirely in Hawaiian. This fall 2019 will be my third year teaching. Physical education is important for young learners. Current educational research shows that the more children are able to move, the more they are able to improve their academic performance. Movement is important for a child to feel organized, and to develop their strength, coordination, balance, motor planning and sensory systems. All of these skills, which are developed and maintained through movement, are essential for helping your child maintain focus in the classroom. Students will be able to use the different sports balls during our P.E. time. They will have the opportunity to also the learn foundation for the many different sports, such as, throwing a football, passing a volleyball, dribbling a basketball, and building their coordination skills with different running activities.
