These tables will allow students to make choices to enhance their learning. During independent work times, students choose a location in the classroom to work. They can then choose a learning activity that is of interest to them. They will be able to choose their work area and how they complete their work. Work areas include; different tables (tables from this project) sitting on the carpet with clip boards or lap desks, or a chair in a quiet area of the room. Creative seating and work area choice is an essential component in motivating my students. With choice about where they sit, they tend to be more engaged in activities and independent complete tasks with minimal prompting. The tables I have chosen will allow small groups of students to sit together and work on tasks. They will be able to help each other and make choices about who and what they work with. Students will be able to move freely between different activities that will reinforce what they have previously learned. I know these tables will positively affect my students and help them achieve to their potential!
