When using the curriculum my students often have to learn in the whole group due to the limited amount of instruments that we have. I would like to have different instruments available to our students for exploration, in-class assessments, and performing for the community. If we are able to secure more instruments then I can create stations for them to learn the separate parts to bring together. My students understand that with practice, dedication, and sharing we enjoy our class time the best way they can. Often I have to skip or omit part of the lesson given from the curriculum because we do not have the instrumentation to do the activity. If we had the instruments, the students could be more hands-on, and could better connect with the basic music skill I am teaching. They often ask if they can come after school to perform because they didn't get a turn during class. I always let them because I appreciate that no matter what we do not have, they still want to learn more.
