"The Lightning Thief" is an action-packed, suspenseful novel that will keep students on the edge of their seats! This novel will prove to 6th graders that reading is fun, adventurous, and a worthwhile past time! The novel I am requesting will instill a lifelong love of reading! Through our novel study, students will complete a variety of book projects, engaging activities, and interactive assignments that will not only monitor their comprehension, but also address individual strengths and weaknesses. All the while we will be focusing specific Reading and Language Arts standards, reading strategies, close reading strategies, and even study skills.
