During carpet time, I plan on having Math Talks. During these math talks, students will be able to share how they come up with answers. Peer learning is huge and happens through moments like this. I also plan on doing interactive writing lessons with the kids at the carpet. The carpet will allow for us to work together closely while promoting engagement, close interactions, and community growing. I will have an easel with chart paper to write stories together and work out Math problems. We will talk about why and why not what we do is correct. This helps students to take responsibility for their own learning.
