I have a giant white teddy bear who is the reading mascot in my room. Children are invited to his "den" to hear a story and interact with him. I want them to feel welcome and at home in his space by bringing in alternative seating like you would find in someone's actual home. Students in special education may have a difficult time staying in their seats or struggle being away from amenities at home. Alternative seating will give them some freedom in how they choose to sit, listen, read, and share with friends. The seating will bring a welcoming feel to the classroom.
