My students are an active bunch. Having the availability of flexible seating will benefit all of my students. Studies have shown that students who are active during learning retain information better.
Think how you best learn-I bet it is not in anywhere where you are physically uncomfortable.
Imagine sitting on the hardest surface you know while trying to show what you learned on a math test that could take an hour.
Does that sound like fun to you? My students need a way to move while they work. I teach many students who have attention issues and need to move to help them focus. The chairs provided for my students are hard, cold, and allow for no movement. My students constantly rock in their chairs, and since I have a tiled floor, that's not a very safe way to allow movement.
Wobble chairs would allow my students to move and learn at the same time. Because I teach third grade students, I need larger chairs to accommodate them. These three chairs will be a great addition to the flexible seating options in my room.
