I have the privilege of teaching 32 fifth grade students in a self- contained classroom in one of the most diverse areas in the nation. The students, who were once my third grade students, have extremely diverse learning needs, and project-based learning opportunities bring the classroom population together for meaningful, hands-on, real-world learning experiences and valuable collaboration time. In order to provide them with the richest experiences possible, I would like to offer them the tools necessary to engage in projects across all academic areas in a cross-curricular fashion. Allowing the students to make connections across all academic areas using a variety of modalities and tools makes their educational experiences more meaningful and memorable.

About my class
