The chromebooks that I am requesting for my students will be used as soon as they arrive. I have integrated chromebooks into my classroom over the past two years. I am able to use them not only as a digital resource but also a tool to help my students who are struggling the most. An example of how I have used the chromebooks this year is during independent reading. I am able to create read aloud videos with stopping points and think alouds which allows students to be more independent with a text that might be above their reading level. Students are able to read along and interact with the video, pausing at strategic times to ensure comprehension. The donations to this project will help to empower my students and create agency and voice - all tools that will afford my students the opportunity to not only succeed but excel in today's society. With common-core standards, the expectation is that my students will be able to compete with students from similar grades. The reality is that my students are expected to do that with limited resources. With your support, I can continue to level the playing field. Many thanks!
