SMS choir is raising funds for a Yamaha CVP 701 to replace a very old piano that is in disrepair. A newer model will allow the accompaniment tracks to be pre-recorded which will help students learn their vocal parts better by hearing the harmonies along with their parts. Having a piano that has memory to play pre-recorded music will allow for better teacher-student interaction by allowing me to be actively engaged with the students rather than tied to the piano. The ability to record loops will help the students experiment with improvisation and create interactive rehearsals. It will be used in all the choirs and in the piano class to enhance the songs with the variety of rhythmic and voice choices. Performances will be greatly enhanced with a piano that can be easily moved to the gym.
