My 1st grade students receive much direct teaching on the carpet. A lot of time is spent picking their "perfect" spot, redirecting, and reminding students to leave personal space for others. This is a time when behaviors can occur. By purchasing the "Place for Everyone" carpet from Lakeshore, I may be able to provide students with their own spot at the carpet and manage carpet time. The space will help my students manage their own personal space and keep from wasting valuable instructional time to correct behaviors that could be prevented. My students will love a space to call their own. It will eliminate the need for assigning spaces as the rug will already provided that!
