As a first year teacher, my goal is to help my students have access to books they are confident reading. I believe that every student is capable of learning how to read, however, one must have the resources and access to the material. As soon as my students walk through the door, I want them to know that I believe in them and they can achieve anything they put their mind to. I am striving to create a supportive environment that builds their confidence and helps to enrich their interest in independent reading. By providing leveled texts for students, I believe it will support my goals to aid students on their journey to literacy.
