Using tables instead of desks will allow my students to work and learn in collaboration easier, rather than independently. I teach engaging lessons with strategies that involve teamwork and cooperative learning. Having tables will be less restrictive than desks, allowing my students to work together more effectively. I believe that every learner has his or her own needs that need to be met in order to gain a true understanding of material that is being taught. Often times, this means that students learn better from peers, rather than the teacher alone. Having tables will be less restrictive and allow more room for students to work together in learning, or in some cases, teaching. Many of my students have a less fortunate economical background which leads to a lack in social skills. Tables will allow me to teach my students how to build social skills, which is an essential life skill. In turn, my students will have the ability to build meaningful, strong relationships with their peers, adults, and family.
