Scope Magazines use real high interest news articles to teach vital reading skills to students. By using a variety of genre, students are exposed to many different types of literature. In the past, my students have read articles about Malala and learned that she is an advocate for education for all students. My students have read articles about high school athletes getting concussions while playing school sports. When my students were reading novels about the Holocaust they were able to to read an article about students who stood up to Adolf Hitler. My students are always extremely interested in the articles in Scope Magazine
