My students will be able to take turns using the different seating options throughout the day. Flexible seating can remedy students' fatigue, as the brain activity slows down when the body becomes stationary. This movement will help my students be able to focus. My students come to school energetic and ready to learn, but sitting still for hours in the classroom can leave them uncomfortable and in need of some movement. I am requesting flexible seating items for our classroom. I have requested wobble chairs, sensory cushions, floor chairs, and ball seats. These seating options will give the kids the opportunity to choose how and where they want to do their work. Providing students with choices in their learning environment increases their confidence, productivity and ability to make and learn from their choices. It also encourages collaboration and a sense of responsibility among students.
