Flexible seating allows my students to learn in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Students are able to take charge of their learning and find a place in the classroom that best fits their individual needs. When students get independent work time they choose a location around the classroom where they can work the best. I have noticed an amazing difference compared to when they are working at desks near peers to when they get the option to use a flexible seat around the classroom. My students are more engaged and focused on their learning when they are able to choose a place around the classroom to work. This year students had their desk to work at but I would like to make my classroom all flexible seating with options of comfy chairs, floor seating, using tables with different stools, or their desks. I would like my students to use the shelf to store all their materials since they won't be using desks for their things. The ball chair will allow the students to move while still focusing on their work. The yellow chairs are adjustable and will allow students to sit at desk/high tables and still get movement. The desk tables will allow my students to sit on the floor and still be able to work in a place they are comfortable. All of these different products will be extremely beneficial for most of my students that need to get the wiggles out. My students have enjoyed flexible seating so far but this would help us be able to really make the transition into flexible seating. It has already had a positive impact on my class and I can't wait to see how they grow with flexible seating!
