In school, students are told everyday exactly what they should think and how they should do something. Art is the exception to this practice, our students are allowed to create and think for themselves. Our focus is on teaching them artistic behavior and the creative process. In Studio 405, students are given an essential question or problem and they create artwork around that theme. We call these projects WOW (Wonderful, Original, Works of art) Projects. Students choose their own media. They have to research the techniques, set learning goals, create their projects, critique each other's progress, present their projects and reflect on their learning.
