Many of my students struggle with regulating their attention, their emotions and their energy levels. This is due to multifaceted factors; some factors such as home situations and nutrition are outside of the student's control. Sometimes my students need a quiet space. Sometimes my students need a space to increase arousal. We are requesting a trampoline, floor mats and headphones to build a sensory space to calm down and self regulate. These items will be used to make a sensory zone in the Occupational Therapy Room. The sensory area will allow students to get to their optimal self regulation zone to be able to concentrate and engage in their classroom. The requested trampoline will be used to increase energy and attention while the floor mats, headphones and aromatherapy materials will be used for the students who need to calm their mind and focus on educational tasks.
