Distance learning was so difficult for most of my self-contained autistic students. I had no ways of communicating with my non-verbal students using (PECS) because it was all virtual. They regressed in their communication skills which the notebooks will serve as a way of communication. The Instax Printer and Film will help me print pictures to use for PECS (communication system) for my non-verbal students. The notebooks, whiteboards, and markers, will also help my student's writing. Something they really struggle with is writing tall and short letters. The NV Standard that supports my projects is W.K.1 which states "Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are writing about and state an opinion or preference about the topic or book". Other materials in my list such as the iPad cases will help protect our technology. The building tools will serve as reinforcements for my students to stay on task. The paintbrushes will give my boys the opportunity to be creative and express themselves. The TeachersPayTeacher's gift card will help supplement my curriculum to purchase task box materials, which the Photo Cases will help organize. The balance ball is flexible seating and is used for engagement. The laminator will be used to help protect my teaching materials.
