As apart of fourth grade curriculum, we learn about environmental sciences. By including a classroom terrarium students will have their very own classroom terrarium to use. I specifically chose this classroom terrarium because it shows the ecosystem of how the plant waste provides energy for the plants to grow. While the plants clean the fish tank for the fish to survive. My students will have the real life experience of being able to witness a self preserving system. Many of my students do not have any first hand experiences outside of school, so this project will grant them those experiences. As per the Amazon website, "Mini home ecosystem: the water garden is a self-cleaning fish Tank Aquarium that grows organic microgreens on top! This tank is a scaled-down hydroponics system - The fish waste fertilizes the plants & the plants clean the water."
