The funding of this project will allow my students to create and edit videos for science projects using an iPad. These science projects not only increase the engagement in learning for the students but also gives my students the ability to develop much-needed technology skills which they need in this technology-driven world. With this iPad, students will be able to take full ownership of their science projects, from writing their script to recording and editing their video. Currently, I allow the students to use my own personal cellphone to record the videos. This is not an ideal situation and can result in damage to personal property. Also, since they are using my cellphone, they don't have the opportunity to take full ownership of their project. I edit their videos on my phone because we do not have technology with an app to allow the students to do it themselves. This year, I am focused on pushing and challenging my students to stretch their academic rigor. One way to do this is by giving them new learning opportunities that will allow them to develop new and important skills.
