LIMS is a neighborhood school in the heart of St. Louis, proudly serving many immigrant and refugee families along with the students in our community. Our school has a rich language and ethnic diversity, welcoming students from 29 countries! These talented, resilient young people have unique stories and perspectives, whether they are from the neighborhood or from other countries. With rich, unique backgrounds, come significant, unique obstacles, especially with the way COVID-19 has changed our learning approach. Many of our students have language, housing, and technology barriers. Many of them have not been able to return to school or have been displaced, making online learning difficult or inconsistent.
