My students are transitioning from picture books to beginning and intermediate chapter books, yet they have little to no access to quality books that ignite passion and excitement for reading. Our school has so little to offer them in our school library. My high poverty students do not have support at home for reading and our families do not own books at home. I desire to build a classroom library that my students can easily access daily, as well as check out books from our own classroom library. By having access to quality, high interest literature, my goal is to help ignite that passion for reading and build literacy to take them into the future.

About my class
