Many of our students are interested in building and constructing things, much like an engineer. But, we do not currently have a dedicated class that offers such experiences. In my math class, we have a small unit dedicated to understanding structural engineering both from the geometric and physical side and another unit in combinatorics and programming. My hopes are for my students to learn through playing and begin to envision themselves as imaginative creators. We will begin with a small scale project that these supplies will provide, and with some proper documentation and networking, we can begin building partnerships with local engineering companies to bring in the real-world aspect into onto our school campus.
