Learning from a book can only take students so far in their understanding of any topic. My goal is to transform my Horticulture class into an interactive and engaging Plant Science course that incorporates exciting science labs, with additional greenhouse production experiences. Incorporating scientific labs in my Horticulture class will take my high-level learners to new heights, and support my struggling learners in grasping advanced concepts. These labs will rigorously connect all learners to the content of Plant Science and Biology through hands-on, applied activities. This request includes consumable supplies that will help my students complete labs such as analyzing soil properties and organisms, utilizing alternative growing medias and systems like hydroponics, and analyzing the functions and properties of cells. There are also items that that will be used for additional labs for years to come, such as beakers and graduated cylinders. Please help me purchase supplies to make my new and improved Horticulture class a more hands-on, lab-based class!
