I teach a group of students with special needs and abilities that need attention to their academic, social functioning and language skills that have resulted in academic performance deficits in the areas of reading comprehension and written expression. Chromebooks will assist in helping these students to focus on individual tasks and organize their thought processes. I believe this will help them to make progress in reaching their specific goals. Some ways in which Chromebooks will benefit them are that students will be able to use the audio feature for various text, construct their thinking using digital graphic organizers, gather information, participate in discussions from content, draw and outline their writing. Chromebooks will provide what each student needs in their accommodations. It will also develop their interpersonal as well as intrapersonal skills to help them be more successful. Imagine the curated assignments they will be able to share with the class and their families.
