My students are eighth graders, males and females, who are thirteen to fourteen. They are eager to learn. They showed this eagerness by attending a summer algebra starter course this summer for two weeks of their own time. The students attend a community elementary school where there are 75-85% low income students. The school is a feeder school for another school that traditionally has overcrowding.
