Traditional classrooms often provide the basic materials to offer learners a safe space to learn, however, at times they can lack a pleasing, soothing aesthetic leaving students to yearn for some of the comforts of home in their learning environments. DonorsChoose.org will give me the opportunity to change that in my classroom. Adding flexible, comfy seating as well as hands-on engaging centers and leveled extension activities such as dry erase boards and sight word string-ups should help to produce a more inviting space. It is my hope that giving students the freedom to explore activities and spaces beyond the usual should help facilitate a more productive learning environment.
