The world of science is discovered through experiences. In the modern age this is a combination of hand on experiments and virtual labs. For both types of inquiry computers are used to collect and manipulate data as well as researching phenomenon. The use of computers for scientific inquiry fosters 21st century collaboration and creative skills necessary for students to become competitive in the global market. Students in my class have previously used CAD (online design program) to create genius hour projects, and solve real world plastic pollution problems following the engineering design process. These computers would allow ALL students to gain this knowledge and hands on experience.
