If my project is fully funded, I could design wonderful lessons for my students who cannot use regular resources. Children hospitalized with contact precautions are limited and even deprived of resources. Bringing in used books for lessons is prohibited due to obvious health risks. This grant hopefully can bridge that gap in resources. This curated collection of resources promises to serve the needs of these ill children. Books can take one out of the monotony of hospital isolation and routine and give flight to the imagination. With these books, I can teach the best, most comprehensive lessons possible. For example, I can develop Social Studies lessons with detailed maps supporting the text. Science diagrams will be precise and easy to decode in color. Literature lessons will be bright and colorful with lovely illustrated books. My contact precaution students will be able to enjoy these clean, safe books. These students will be exposed to books, not germs.
