The students I teach have all had overcome adversity in their lives. They are a very diverse group of young people that have had very limited dealings with the environment around them. By funding these backpacks and tents will help me to be able to take them on an adventure of a lifetime. During this trip the students will engage in many lessons, from identifying plant and animal life, to map and compass skills, team building, planning and budgeting for the trip. We will also be doing stream studies of both plants, micro,and macro invertebrates and fish species. The students will have the opportunity too learn several methods of fishing for trout. This trip will allow the students to test themselves in ways that they have never encountered before. They will have to prepare physically and mentally. many of them have never been out of their home town before.
