We have a science class each day, and adding these materials to our classroom would be so beneficial to everyone, and also give students the opportunity to work 1-1 and in small groups to develop these additional skills and explore more information that would spark more learning. Typically, students in my classroom have opportunities to learn about different units in science as a result of combining multiple resources located from multiple sources, without the exposure of connected projects to actually build things themselves. Getting these materials would allow the students to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts being taught, as well as provide motivation to learn more and continue to practice and develop a love of learning across all academic areas. The STEAM bundle would be used to further supplement the high-interest units that will be utilized throughout the year, each day. These materials would be used in whole group introduction to coding, as well as in individual 1-1 situations for students to get a more focused lesson. The ant factory and compost containers would be used as semi-permanent science fixtures in the classroom that would allow for continued learning throughout the year and even cross-curricular.
