Our students want to start a soccer program and want to expand our basketball program at KIPP Tulsa. Our physical education class only has one soccer ball and four basketballs. It is necessary to have the additional balls in order to successfully do drills and to have basketballs across all teams. In class, the balls will allow for our physical education teacher to do small groups with both units comfortably. This helps all students get additional practice during the allotted PE time and it helps to build their confidence in class. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent work to build sportsmanship and to be able to practice socialization. We will be able to take these with us when we travel to other schools for games and competitions. The soccer balls and basketballs will play many roles in the program for the students. First and foremost, it will give all students a chance to play in and out of class without. This will enhance the environment not only in the classroom but on the field as well.
