The students in my middle school music program are wonderful kids. We're an ethnically diverse school, with more than one-third of our students are at or below the poverty level. They have many obstacles to their education both in and out of the classroom, but they don't let it deter them from their goals. They're constantly pushing themselves academically and musically. We do have budget constraints, just like any other music program. The district funds our repair needs, but I'm always looking for new and inventive ways to meet my students' needs. Students who need to use school instruments are accommodated with the inventory we have available.
