I would like a whiteboard kidney table and five matching stools so I can work with students in small, need-based groups. Whether a student is struggling or excelling in an academic concept, the benefits of working with students in small groups are endless. Small groups allow for student collaboration, one-on-one teacher-student interactions, and need-based instruction to yield academic success for all students. When working with students in small groups at the whiteboard table, all students can be engaged and actively learning at all times with their own whiteboard marker. Whiteboard tables shy away from standard worksheets and move toward differentiated and student-centered learning. As a teacher, the whiteboard table would allow me to be flexible and change my instruction as needed based on what type of instruction each group of students would benefit from the most. Whiteboard tables allow students to embrace their mistakes as a means for more powerful learning. Students can easily erase their work and change their answers to promote instant growth and learning.
