We have literature circles after state testing and this allows to have a book club as a class and then share the experience of a classic movie once we have read the book. My class and the four other 5th grade classes will be rotating for book club and it is amazing how many students have never read of even seen the Wizard of Oz. It's a great book and last year, the students enjoyed the reading with each other and the projects we worked on that were geared to the book. The books are old though and falling apart and we had multiple editions so not all the books matched or were readable.
