Students in this class are exceptional learners and all learn at different paces and modalities. Tools such as privacy screens will help them be focused on their individualized work and give them a distraction free space. Ipad's are used daily to enhance their academic skills by allowing them to practice reading and math, and headphones allow students to be focused on their individual learning. Tactile tools are needed to help soothe students from stressors, and Play-doh and sensory toys have been proven to be effective calming strategies for our students. As a Special Education teacher, I am required to develop Individualized Education Plans for each student. Resources such as computer paper will allow me to be able to print my reports and create daily behavior contracts for each student. Also, this will provide my students learning booklets for daily academic work. Supplies such as markers, glue sticks, and dry erase markers will enhance the learning of my students.
