These resources will help Kindergarteners engage in identifying and counting by ones, identifying patterns, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, collaboration, the list goes on. One reading foundational skill standard is understanding syllables, phonemes when using the fishing for letters game while increasing fine motor control with tongs. Another resource is the coding bots which would be used toward the later part of the year for kids to work together to make their Indi car go. Another resource is helping the students use number recognition and quantifying in a fun, hands-on way. The beautiful thing about Kindergarten is they learn at the centers not really knowing what they are doing is work. They are treating it as a game and then apply the learning to their assessments and daily practice. Standard K.C.C Counting and cardinality, when using the chains to make a pattern and count by ones, or 2's or 5's, etc. All of the items I requested will be used in both ELA and Math. I will be incorporating SEL standards when they are working in groups during their center time using these activities.
