I am trying to get more materials so that I can differentiate instruction for my mixed age classroom. I have become interested in the Reggio Emilia way of teaching and learning and I am trying to introduce as many materials that I can that will support this. The materials that I am looking to obtain for my classroom are things that I cannot make myself or would otherwise be too expensive or I would not be able to get them because I need most of my budget for consumables. Many of my students are ELL students and this method of learning is great for them. I want to use the Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs along with the A to Z teaching cards and the fine motor game for those students who are nonverbal. I plan to use the arch Blocks, Kinetic Sensory Sand and the Blocks & Blueprints Learning Center for children who need more tactile stimulus for learning. The Craft Tape, Glitter, pipe cleaners and glitter glue will be used in my arts and crafts area for independent work time with art materials. Finally, the chart tablets will be used for large group time when I am doing direct instruction and modeling writing for the group.
