STEM is a type of project-based learning that focuses on real-world problems. Students explore and apply science and math knowledge using the engineering design process. Students use what they are learning in math and science to create a technology or a solution for a problem. I was inspired to request resources for my students because I want them to focus on learning and keep them engaged, especially after dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. In addition to the Samsung Galaxy Tablets, I am requesting additional STEM resources my students will use during science and math workstations. Students will use these resources to ask , make observations, and gather information about addition, subtraction and develop physical models based on math concepts. For example, if a student wanted to build a house, the students will the use STEM resources I am requesting to build, and explain verbally or in writing what they used, how many, and discuss and problems and how they collaborated to solve problems. I have to accommodate every student. The Alpha-Bots, Number-Bots, VIAHART Brain Flakes, AMOSTING Magnetic Blocks Building Set, Idoot Magnetic Blocks Building Set , and Cool Toys Monkey Balance Cool Math Game will be great resources for my students who are not a grade level in math and reading. The LEGO Classic Medium Creative Brick Box, LEGO City People Pack, LEGO Base Plates will be used during math lessons to help students with their addition and subtraction skills. The Marble Run Sets for Kids, Straw Constructor STEM Building Toy Set, and The K'NEX Education STEM EXPLORATIONS STEM Sets will be for my advanced students who are ready to explore multiplication. I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
