In order to provide adequate access to our reading and math curriculum, students require individualized programs that meet them where they are. iPads will give students access to hundreds of early reader texts, ebooks and targeted math interventions. The iPads will allow students to receive individualized interventions (for students who need additional support) and acceleration (for students who need more challenging activities) they would not otherwise have access to. I have watched my students get incredibly excited and motivated when they succeed because they are able to read a book on their level or in their language. I have also experienced the level of engagement my students show when they receive one-on-one or small group instruction. Your generous donation will provide students the ability to learn through technology, and make them feel special and excited to learn at their own pace. As a teacher, I try to balance the importance of the rigorous modern day curriculum, high expectations and the importance of having fun, exploring, being kind and sharing. This technology access will allow students to engage in core subject areas, as well as explore science, history, and their own individual interests to truly get them motivated to learn. Your donation will provide my class with an invaluable resource and much needed access point to the everyday curriculum.
