Everything I do in my classroom, I strive to back up with up to date evidence. Research shows that students learn more and are more likely to actively engage in the classroom when they have flexible seating that allows them to move freely. In a practical sense, I know that I do not do well sitting for long periods of time. I see that my students are active children who crave movement. I do have some flexible seating options in my classroom, and most students want them. I do not have enough options at this time to accommodate all of my students.
