My students are ready to take on the challenge of reading twice a week to enhance their reading skills. The books that they have to choose from is very limited in my classroom library. They want to read works from writers that interest them and I do not have the funding to currently fill my shelves with what they desire. By funding my classroom library, we will be able to offer books that interest my students. Sparking their interest is the first step in gaining lifelong readers in my classroom. I know that assisting them with book choices will eventually lead to a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
