These books will be used for my book club. Students in my after school book club will read the story and will participate in a STEAM activity after, to make a connection. While reading, comprehension questions will be asked and reading strategies will be targeted informally. The purpose of this club is to have struggling readers included, where a picture book will be read instead of a chapter book. I want my students to feel they have accomplished something versus getting frustrated with a chapter book that takes longer to finish. My goal is to instill the love of reading to everyone on my campus.
