These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by equipping them with tools that they need to be successful in increasing their literacy skills. It will provide them headphones so that they can use the technology that is available to them in the classroom to engage in different games and activities that are statistically proven to increase literacy skills, and it will also provide us with more paperback books to build a classroom library that we will be able to use throughout the year for various read aloud activities. These books will also motivate them to increase their reading levels so that they will be able to read them on their own! Finally, the timer will help them learn to regulate their work so that they can be productive in the time that they are given to complete tasks. Since Kindergartners do not have a well developed concept of time, the visual timer will help them learn by showing them how much time they have left to complete their assignments.
