Through music, our children can awaken the knowledge of themselves, their community, and their country. Through this ukulele program, every student (and teacher!) has access to level-specific, sequential resources to assist the learning of music through this wonderful, four-stringed tool. Music is the memory of our people brought to life. Playing ukulele introduces students to a form of musical involvement that can be enjoyed as a lifelong pursuit. Whether they continue with the ukulele, or transfer their knowledge to another instrument, the ability to sing and play can open up positive personal and social experiences throughout their lifetime. Through music, our student’s build confidence, self-expression, creativity, build relationships and are excited about coming to school. We feel that every child deserves the chance to an education, especially one which includes music. Studies have shown that it makes kids smarter, improves the quality of their education, increases brain size and activity, and helps to teach them the skills necessary for success later in life.
